4th May - in memory of the tragedy of the Grande Torino Football Club

The Superga air disaster occurred on 4 May 1949 when the Fiat G.212 (Italian Airlines), carrying the Grande Torino, one of the most powerful football teams in the history (they won five Italian championships in a row and they were one of the symbols of rebirth after World War II), crashed on the Basilica of Superga, Turin (Italy). There were 31 victims.

"Heroes are always immortal in the eyes of those who believe in them. So the guys will believe that Torino is not dead: it is only away" - Indro Montanelli.
